3 Things you didn’t know about local News

Have you ever thought about why your local news is so bad? Or why there are so few relevant topics being covered? I live in an area with multiple bordering neighborhoods with the multiple schools, libraries, shopping centers, churches, sports fields, crime, local events etc. The point I’m trying to make here is that most suburban neighborhoods have alot of activity going on and its rarely reported on.

There is a misconception that news needs to be done by professionals when virtually anyone has the ability to update those around them. If you’ve read many blogs, you’ll know that most bloggers are not English majors including myself. News should be done in a ubiquitous manner where real news is done in virtual real time by who ever has the best vantage point. If its a parent at the local soccer game or the teenager that witnesses a car accident that holds up traffic, anyone should be able to update the local neighborhood as soon as an event occurs.Local neighborhood activity

  1. News doesn’t need to be done by Professional News Reporters
  2. Local News can be provided by anyone who witnesses it
  3. You – are your local news reporter – report what ever you think is important to others around you.

Sites like ServiceBox.com were built to enable anyone to update their local Neighborhoods on events or topics that are relevant to them.
